Pepaw's surgery

Pepaw had surgery Monday August 25th to remove his left upper lung where the tumor was found. We thought that the entire left lung might have to be removed; but, thankfully, just the upper lobe! Great news!! He surprisingly looked great afterwards and was up to his good sense of humor already. He is such a sweet, gentle soul. We wish him the quickest recovery. We love our Pepaw!

Dinner at Memaw's

The Hunt family gathered Sunday night for another family event. Pepaw Hunt is having surgery to remove cancer and we all wanted to make some more good memories before he went into the hospital. Joe (Russell) was in town from Virginia. Aunt Ginny was there. Baby Talon joined in on the fun as well. Of course, Carly, Olivia, Jake, Emily and Caroline enjoyed themselves. Olivia and Caroline put on a talent show for all of us. Emily and Carly tortured Jake with Memaw's perfume. Poor Jake. He doesn't have a chance with all of these crazy girls. The older we all get, the more we enjoy getting together. There is never a dull moment and we always laugh until our bellies hurt!

Cheer Camp 2008

Here are some pix of the girls at cheer camp this past Saturday. They love it! My favorite part is when they ask the parents to get on the floor and do "Ice Cream and Cake and Cake"... What was I thinking? Is it too late to have boys instead?!?? :) Our friends Codi Kiinhl and Callie Wilson helped with Camp. By the way, Callie, thanks for all of your old jewelry. The girls have already divided it up!

Weekend at the TN River

We love to go to see Granny and Granddaddy at the River. We went with Danielle, Wilson, Harleigh and Taylor Delong the weekend before Danielle left for college. We always have a blast. Riding the boat is one of my favorite things! Emily and Caroline rode the tube for the first time. Emily was yelling, "This Rocks!" at the top of her lungs! We love Granny and Granddaddy!

Caroline's First Day of Kindergarten

Wow! I cannot believe how the time flies! Caroline started Kindergarten at Fayette Academy on Thursday, August 14th. What an emotional day for me! I actually had to catch myself from sobbing outloud in her classroom. Caroline, of course, was ready and so excited to be there. She listened so well and did exactly what she was told to do. She was glad to see a few of her friends from PreK last year. Her teacher this year is Mrs. Dinah Armour. Mrs. Dinah was Emily's kindergarten teacher as well as Aunt Joyce's kindergarten teacher. Mrs. Dinah sent me the sweetest note home after school saying how "honored" she was to have both of my girls for Kindergarten and how she feels as if we are family! I love this Mrs. Dinah and her assistant Mrs. Janet. She taught Emily so much about life that year. Things that will stick with her forever. Such as "Always stop what you are doing and pray for the people in the ambulance whenever you hear sirens." Needless to say, I'm very happy that Caroline will be led this year by such great people. My Sweet Caroline!

Emily First day of Second Grade

Emily started 2nd grade at Fayette Academy on Wednesday, August 13th. She got the teacher she really, really wanted... Mrs. Andrea Stempel. Emily was a little nervous about going back to school this year, and absolutely did not want her mom to take a lot of pix once we got to her class. As Emily sat at her desk for the first time behind her pile of books, I saw her little leg shaking. Just a little scary to start the 2nd grade. I know she will do great this year! Your mom loves you, Emily!!
